There’s a lot of confusion out there about what exactly BCAAs are and whether or not they can be considered a form of pre workout supplement. Let’s clear things up.

What are BCAAs

BCAAs, or branched chain amino acids, are a group of three essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. They’re called essential because our bodies cannot produce them on their own – we must get them through our diet or supplements.

BCAAs are found in abundance in protein-rich foods like meats, eggs, and dairy. However, many people choose to supplement with BCAAs to ensure they’re getting enough of these important nutrients.

BCAAs & Pre Workout

So, what does all this have to do with pre workout supplements? Well, some pre workout supplements do contain BCAAs. However, not all BCAAs are created equal.

There are two main types of BCAAs: L- BCAA and D- BCAA. L- BCAA is the form of BCAA that is found naturally in foods. D- BCAA is a synthetic form of BCAA that is not found in nature.

Some research suggests that D- BCAA may be more effective at boosting exercise performance than L- BCAA. However, more research is needed to confirm these claims.

So, if you’re wondering if BCAAs can be considered a form of pre workout supplement, the answer is yes – but it depends on the type of BCAA you’re taking. If you’re taking L- BCAA, it’s likely that you’re not getting enough of this nutrient to truly boost your exercise performance. However, if you’re taking D- BCAA, you may be getting the benefits you’re looking for.
